A friendly and informal atmosphere is what makes our club so unique, and for many of our players this an important reason to be members of GBA: sports and pleasure go hand in hand. GBA not only allows you to play badminton, but we also organize other activities. For example, we go out for dinner together every third Sunday of the month, and every member who wants to can join in. It is a nice opportunity to get to know each other better. And in our two-monthly newsletter, we keep you up-to-date about everything that goes on at GBA.

Every Sunday there is a one-hour training lesson for beginners, which starts at 5 p.m. You will learn everything about basic badminton techniques, and the lessons also help you to get ready for playing matches and for playing at tournaments. Our trainer makes sure everyone gets along well and newcomers are always welcomed and receive extra attention. You can start training at any time of the year. There are also training lessons for more advanced players, where you learn to further improve your skills, so you can perform better at tournaments.

You are more than welcome for a free trial training lesson.

If you would like to know more, than please contact Rene van Hoorn at 06 22 20 01 30.

Rotation system for more advanced players

On Sundays from 5.00 till 6.00 p.m. the more advanced players play according to a rotation system so that everyone has a chance to play against everyone else. It is entirely up to you to attend training lessons or to take part in the rotation system.

After the training lessons and the rotation games you are free to play badminton with anyone you would like to. We all make sure that everyone has the opportunity to play.

One of the great things about badminton is the opportunity to take part in one or more of the many tournaments. There are not only a great number of tournaments in the Netherlands – for example at the gay and lesbian sports clubs in Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Den Bosch – but there are also many tournaments organized by badminton clubs abroad. Because every club wants its tournament to be the best, these tournaments are great sports and social events. They are not only about sports, but also about having a great time together. A party and a brunch are always part of the tournament.

GBA and Ketelbinkie Rotterdam take turns in organizing the yearly Easter Tournament, which takes place at Easter, as you will have guessed.
